What to say, I could write a chapter but will keep it to a paragraph. Don and Nancy (Mr & Mrs Brodeur to me) always made me feel like a member of the family, such warmth and comfort whenever I was there in their homes on Mile Creek, Ferry Rd, and even Fairway Lane, not feeling like just a guest, and that was many times for many years while Marc and I were in high school at St Bernard’s together, throughout college yrs, and even several yrs to follow before he and Jen started their blessed and wonderful life together. My mother tells me he often told her he considered me an ‘8th son’, something I’m sure he said about several others given the close relationships and all around loving attitude in the family and ‘extended family’, but still means a lot to me nonetheless. Despite the obvious sadness, I was so glad to participate in all the beautiful and moving ceremonies on Saturday, spend time with the family (though still too short), and cherish his magnificent life and legacy embodied by you all. While he will be dearly missed by many, he will surely not be forgotten. I can say with confidence that his remembrance card and ceremonial pamphlet will be with me always, both already in special places.
