My brother just told me the sad news...I was EXTREMELY privileged to know Bob. He was a good friend of my parents and I loved driving in and seeing his car there. You knew you were in for some great stories and good laughs as you learned about local history, too, not to mention the armed forces. I typically have a picnic every year and the last few years Bob has come (with his gallon of raspberry ice cream). He enjoyed himself and we always enjoyed having him. I know the last couple of years he had not been very well, and we felt very bad about it, although he was a strong guy and had been through much. Bob was just a great guy all around. He will be missed terribly.

To the family and many friends of Bob I was happy to be part of his life. Bob loved parties and gatherings with many of the locals. Bob was a best friend of my Uncle Lenny Roos and many times brought him to the V.A. and Doctors appointments. As always on the August gathering he loved to hear my brother Kurt Fargo play his guitar. " Bob your not wearing your good luck Red Sweater as he's rubbing of lotto tickets" and all he would say is I have to wash it at some point. He always talked of his son Robert who we never meant but we sure feel we know you Robert and the girls. As Bob would say If it wasn't for my son I would of never settled down. Teasing Bob as I always did I told him the Elephant in from of the Town Hall in Deep River was his and he went and picked it up personally. I truly adored him so much as we all did as family and friends. To Robert,Janet and the girls you were so blessed to share his love and affection and ourselves as friends were able to laugh like crazy and have one heck of a good time.

Bob was a true friend to my entire family. My sister had picnics in the summer and he was always there having a good time and telling us many stories and jokes. He would pick up my father and between them they always had a good time ,like two young boys.

Robert, Janet and girls - so sorry for your loss. Bob was a great person and friend and I am sure a great father and grandfather. We often talked about horses and animals in general. He was a true Deep River kind of guy. Smiling and always a gentleman. I will miss seeing him when I drive up Lafayette Street. He will be missed by many.
