Obituary of Irene B. Heller
God mercifully and peacefully led one of his most faithful servants to her eternal home on February 16, 2015. Irene was born in New London on November 12, 1939 to the late Recceri (Richard) and Maria (Mary Ann) (Baldi) Brunori. She was raised in Old Saybrook and then made Centerbrook her home for over 50 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. She leaves to mourn her husband, Joseph A. Heller, Jr., her daughters, Michelle Heller of Newton, MA, Lisette Korcak of Ivoryton, and Monique Heller of Old Lyme, her sisters, Lorraine Sotire of Sun City Center, FL, Diane Breslin of Killingworth, and Kathy McGowan of Niantic, 8 beloved grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Irene touched thousands of lives with her compassion, selflessness, and love. She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Church leading their prayer blanket ministry and annual spiritual adoption event. Irene was a Eucharistic Minister and was a devout member of the Third Order of Mary, Alter Society, Women's Guild, Choir, and Padre Pio Foundation. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19th from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the Robinson, Wright, and Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 20th at 10:30AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 14 Prospect Street in Essex followed by interment in the Centerbrook Cemetery.
