Obituary of Brent Taylor

On Monday, December 20, 2021, Brent Taylor, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 80. Brent was born the eldest child of Arthur R. Taylor and Jean A. Taylor (Orris) on June 17, 1941. Brent is survived by his wife Sandra, of over 40 years, his sister Catherine Billings from Deep River CT., his children and step children, Brent Taylor Jr., Stephanie Hamilton (Taylor), her husband Rob and their son Ross from Houston, Texas. Michael Bargnesi, his fiancé Michelle, his children, Matt, Haley and Jessica from Apopka, Florida and Dustin from Lebanon, Maine, Anthony Bargnesi and his daughter Allegra Bargnesi from Norwich, CT, his son Evan and his wife Nira from Oakton, VA. Also, his many nieces and nephews and great grandchildren. Brent graduated Kings Point and sailed to many countries. He retired as a captain in the Merchant Marines. He later became a stock broker for Janney Montgomery and Scott formerly of New London CT. Brent as a person was a lover of sports, music, travel and history children and dogs. He loved telling sea stories, joking around and telling jokes. Some called him “Archie.” Brent joined the Old Saybrook Rotary Club as his father Art did many years ago. Brent firmly believed in Rotary values and “Service above self” to the community. Brent’s leadership and guidance was instrumental in the planning and organization of practically all fundraising events including Delivering Meals on Wheels and the annual golf tournament. He was a Past President, and earned many special awards including the Paul Harris Fellow Award. Brent requested no funeral service.
