I was deeply saddened when I learned of Bob's passing. My association with Bob dates back to when he was involved in resolving the infamous radiograph problem at Seabrook Station. We met at a Nuclear Records Management Association (NRMA) symposium where I represented Northeast Utilities. We were both trying to resolve Records Management systems for our companies that could meet NRC requirements. We kept in touch and swapped ideas to keep our systems at a level that set the pace for the industry. Little did I know that a few years later, Northeast Utilities would acquire Seabrook Station, and we would be working together. Bob transferred the responsibility for his Seabrook Records and Document Control group to me, as we combined the management of all NU Nuclear Facility Records and Document Control groups under one manager. As time progressed, I retired and Bob transferred to Northeast Utilities at Millstone station. I was brought back as a consultant, and he became my Boss. He was the most ethical and dedicated person that I ever worked with. We shared a lot of laughs as well as working the serious side of many issues. I offer my deepest sympathy to his family and friends. He was a great guy, and I will continue to remember our sincere relationship through many years.

Bob's intense work ethic was legendary; but it is was dwarfed by the love and loyalty he gave his family & friends.
I remember him working incredibly long hours at Seabrook, only to drive home and dedicate additional hours with me to go jogging in preparation for my upcoming boot camp obligation. I remember fishing on Kayaks in Maine listening to him articulate his roadmap to retirement and how the number one concern to him was the safety and security of his wife and kids in the event anything should ever happened to him. I remember him at every family birthday party blowing the candles out from 17 feet away moments before the birthday boy/girl could blow them out (just because he could). And I remember helping Bob lower a 400 lbs couch out of his attack window within nothing more than some twine and a coat-hanger, onto the bed of his pick-up truck which was parked on an inclined ice covered driveway while I was standing on ladderonly to hear Bob shout down to me, Steven heads up, the parking brake on that truck only works 50% of the time! (followed by hysterical laughter) It was that sense of humor and Bob's loyalty and love for his family that made me so proud to call him my Brother-in-law.

While I was saddened to hear of Bob's passing today (3-20-14) thoughts of sadness were quickly replaced with fond memories. Bob played a very important role at NU; a role filled with challenges and difficulties. His professionalism, quiet yet determined demeanor, and special sense of humor served him well in successful execution of negotiating strategies and tactics. Speaking from personal experience I can attest to the fact that Bob would have your back especially in the most difficult of circumstances. Bob was a pleasure to know and work with and he will be missed. My condolences to the family on their loss.

Bob was a terrific classmate and respected for his honesty and loyalty to his school and friends. My condolences go out to his wife and family, and also his parents and siblings. God Bless

My condolences to the entire family. Bob was a good person with a wry sense of humor.
One memory I have of him was when he was my manager at Seabrook. I usually would sit and chat with him after dropping something off for him to sign but, this one time, I was so angry with him about a decision he had made that affected our entire team, that I couldn't even look him in the eye. He noticed it right off the bat and convinced me to come sit down and talk to him. He sat back in his chair and let me vent through angry tears. When I was through, he leaned forward and said, "How can I fix it?" I was shocked but at the same time, I was ashamed at myself for thinking he wouldn't care. He cared very much about doing the right thing and I shouldn't have doubted that he did. I missed him a lot when he left Seabrook and sorry that I never kept in touch.
Hold on tight to each other during this time. Plan yearly trips together to celebrate his life and your love for him.
I do know one thing, he will continue to be with you in spirit.

I had the pleasure of working for Bob for 9 years. His incredible work ethic inspired me to strive for better, and he managed to keep me laughing with his dry wit and little quips - "Bobisms," I like to call them - that only he could pull off. I will remember his smile and his good heart always . My deepest sympathy to Patti, Greg and Garrick...may memories bring you comfort and peace. Laura Lemery

I had the pleasure to work for Bob from 1999 (aprox.) to 2005 (retirement). Although I've not seen Bob in 9 years, I clearly recall Bob's "very dry" sense of humor, dour expression and rapier wit. He was man of integrity and decency, and I will miss him. My condolences to the family.
