Obituary of Jane O. Clark
Jane O. Clark, 71, of Killingworth, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2015, surrounded by her children and her sister, Ann. Jane was born on August 11, 1943, in Stamford, CT. She was the daughter of William Henry and Winifred (Combes) Osborn. Jane is survived by her children: James Clark and wife Heather of Higganum, Scott Clark and wife Holly of Ross, CA, and daughter Sarah Karmon and husband David of Cambridge, MA. She also is survived by her five grandchildren: Wyn, Griffin, Eloise, Anna, and Tate. Jane was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Raynor W. Clark, who passed away on January 4, 2014. Jane graduated from Darien High School in 1961 and from Syracuse University in 1965. Following college, she worked at Southern New England Telephone in New Haven, CT, where she met her husband, Raynor. After their children began school, Jane started work as a teacher's aide at Killingworth Elementary School in 1979. This began a 36-year career in which she worked primarily with special needs students. Jane will be remembered as the consummate caregiver. In addition to raising her children and tending for countless schoolchildren, Jane acted as the primary caregiver for her mother and husband in their final years. She was completely selfless and generous with her time and energy. Jane was an avid reader and crossword puzzle fan. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her friends. She also loved to travel, including trips to Ireland, Italy, France, and Alaska. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 23, 2015, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer funeral home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015, at 11:00AM at the Congregational Church in Killingworth, United Church of Christ, 273 Route 81 in Killingworth. The memorial service will be officiated by the Rev. Martha Bays. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care at Middlesex Hospital, Office of Philanthropy, 28 Crescent Street, Middletown, CT 06457 (middlesexhospital.org/support-middlesex-hospital).
