Obituary of Steven Edwin Price

Steven E. Price, 71, of Killingworth passed away on August 23, 2015 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was born in East Lyme Connecticut on March 15, 1944. He was the beloved husband of Claudia (Wright) Price for 51 years. He attended Valley Regional High School and Peacham Academy in Peacham, Vermont. He joined the United States Marine Corps in April of 1962 serving his county for twenty-three and one half years. During his time in Vietnam, he was wounded in action and was a Purple Heart Medal recipient. After retiring form the Marines, he worked for Zanni's Service Station in Deep River, United Technologies Research Center in East Hartford, L.C. Doane Company in Essex, Turbo Products in Ivoryton, and Tyssen Elevator in Orange. He was a member of Solar Lodge #131, AF& AM serving as Master for one year. He is survived by his son Joel Price of Durango, Colorado and his daughter, Sarah Filippi of Bayonne, New Jersey. He was predeceased by his son Shawn Price. He enjoyed creating cigar-box banjos, learning to play the dobro, and researching alternate sources of energy for both homes and cars. He successfully ran his pickup on hydrogen, a very proud moment. A graveside service will be held on Saturday September 12th at 11:00AM at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, in Middletown.
