I will miss Kathryn! I just saw her obituary in the Taos News. I lost touch with Kathryn when she returned to the east coast, but I want to share my memories of her. I first met Kathryn in Oct. 2000 when she came to my home to give my newborn baby Quinn a Cranio Sacral Therapy treatment. She came a few times and we both healed quickly from a rough birth. I was touched so much by her gentle presence and the CST work that I decided to research and pursue training in CST as well! We eventually traded body work
with each other and attended some of the same classes in Santa Fe. She had her own unique way of embodying her work and passing it on to others and I learned a lot from her! She had a terrific smile and such a grounded way of walking in the world. I will light a candle for her here. Blessings to all of you, Carrie Moon.

Kathryn will forever be in the hearts of all of us at the store.Colleen, I SO missed seeing you recently. You and your mom are indelibly woven into the fabric of our lives. It was always so uplifting to see the Kathryns in the store. I heard this sad news in the middle of a hike on Cape Cod and I thought how appropriate a place it was - she would have so loved such a natural setting. Even in the worst of times she was exuberant, radiating joy upon the lucky people around her. Peace and comfort to all of you. She will be greatly missed.

Kathryn will be greatly missed. I've been very blessed to have known her. I always enjoyed talking with her about health and wellness, gardening and everyday life. I will treasure, deeply, the many mornings she would break from her walk and chat a little with me. May God continue to bless her family and keep them in His care. I have been friends with Kathryn for over 50 years and always consider her my best friend. We spent our first years together raising our children (all the same ages) and continued our friendship through travels, phone calls and letters. She was a dedicated woman to her children, beliefs and friends. Courageous in all she did. I will miss her.

I knew Kathryn Tretter first as a parent of wonderful kids who attended Lillie B. Haynes Elementary School where I was the "hippie" gym teacher and later as a dear friend. Back in the 80's our friendship got it's great start when we went together to Washington D.C. for five days. I was attending a Feldenkrais Movement Workshop and Kathryn was visiting a friend. Since her marriage had ended, this was an adventure with being on her own for the first time She had neveer written a check, taken a bus by herself, and had about zero self-confidence. Well she did take a bus and explored Washington quite well. Even attended a few concerts.
From there she attended school (even dissected her own cadaver) and become a knowledgeable gifted healer. And moved to Taos. Gained some confidence too. I missed her then and enjoyed some brief time when she returned.
It has been a priviledge to watch this woman gain wisdon and move through every challenge with courage and grace. She may be gone but what she shared with all who knew her remains in our hearts.
Peace and love, Joan Haiss, Old Lyme, CT

A beautifully written obituary - Katherine would have been very pleased. I loved every chance I had to be in her company. She was always gentle, happy, thoughtful and kind. What a wonderful way to live one's life and a beautiful way to be remembered. The family's celebration of her 80th birthday was a gift for her. Please accept our prayers for her and each of your families; carry on her spirit each day. With love, Geralyn, Dominick, Nick and Blythe

I met your gentle mother through my good friend, Kit Mabry. She stood out from the crowd of ordinary humans in her calmness and lack of ego.
I am so sorry for her departure from this world and from you lives. She was a role model for us all. Yours truly, Shirley Rosseau, Grassy Hill Rd. Lyme
