Obituary of Elaine Marie Van Keirsbilck

Elaine Marie Van Keirsbilck passed away gracefully and in peace on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015. She was born in Hartford Connecticut on June 21, 1946 to Catherine and John Van Keirsbilck and was a resident of Hartford all of her life. A faithful member of Saint Anne's Parish for over 40 years, she lent her extra time in helping with various church activities and projects. Elaine worked for Connecticut General in Bloomfield for over 30 years and then Lincoln Financial Group in Hartford for about 12 years. She was laid off short of retiring and loved to spend her now free time visiting friends and traveling. She was predeceased by her mother, Catherine, who passed away in 1975 and her father, John, who passed away in 1990. She leaves one brother, Robert, who lives in Chester, CT. Even though life had dealt her some limitations as to her abilities, her heart was limitless in generosity and kindness. She enjoyed being with her friends and no one enjoyed a good joke more than she did. She enjoyed the company of animals and always looked forward to visiting her friend Nancy on her farm. She was a member of the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford and enjoyed going to their functions. You did well my sister. You have touched the lives of many who knew you by your example of generosity and thoughtfulness and that will always be cherished and remembered. A memorial service for Elaine will be held at the United Church in Chester on October 21 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel. Those attending may bring a dish to share at the gathering downstairs afterward.
