Obituary of Christine Karras Francese

Christine Karras Francese of Northport, Florida, passed away on November 11, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Enrico V. Francese. They were married for almost 60 years and spent most of those years living in Chester. She was born in Weirton, West Virginia on July 20, 1930 the daughter of Christos and Easmi (Karopoulos) Karvanious. They moved to New York, where she met and married Enrico in 1950. She was a wonderful cook and always had room for a few extras, which her children brought home. She worked in Chester for many years at Chesterfields Health and Rehabilitation in hospital administration. She was a great knitter and an active member of the Chester Meeting House Players. She leaves behind her daughter, Christine Sypher of Higganum, Theresa Francese of Deep River, and her son James Francese and his wife Madelene of East Haddam, her grandchildren, Matthew Sypher, Alyssa and Michael Stopa, Eliot and Jeremy Francese, and Kara Francese and her great-grandson, Stone Vincent Sypher, and her numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Enrico who passed away in 2007, Christine was predeceased by her son, Carmine Francese and her brother, Ernest Karras. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, in Centerbrook on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 12:00PM followed by her burial in the State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, in Middletown.
