Obituary of Frank J. Sauter

Frank J. Sauter, 79, of Clinton passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on December 18, 2015 after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of 30 years to Lynn (Ponzo) Sauter. Born in Volkersheim, Germany on December 20, 1935, he was the son of the late Josef and Anna Sauter. He lived in Clinton for the past 60 years. Frank was employed by The Clark Corporation of Essex, CT for the last 50 years and right up until the time of his passing. He was a faithful member of St. Mary's Church of Visitation in Clinton. Frank was well loved and respected by family and friends alike and was known for his compassion, caring manner and strong work ethic. He had the reputation of knowing someone, wherever he went and loving all unconditionally. He will be deeply missed by his family and all that knew and loved him. Besides his wife, Lynn, he is survived by their four children. Cynthia Paduch of Canterbury, Colleen Topitzer and her husband Paul of Clinton, Chris Sauter and his wife Doreen of Tolland, Michael Goggins and his wife Kathy of Middletown. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Sara and Michaela Paduch, Patrick, Adam and Julia Topitzer, Colin, Bryant and Alec Sauter, and Peter and Kasey Goggins. He also leaves several family members in Germany. Family and friends may call at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St., in Centerbrook, on Wednesday, December 30th from 5 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 31st at Saint Mary's Church of Visitation, 54 Grove St., in Clinton.
