Miss Seeing Don running in centerbrook and ivoryton. He also participated in the Run for Chris 5K for which I was grateful. I have a picture of him running in the race. If you would like it please let me know. He seemed so determined to keep healthy, even when he could only walk not run (I was worried about him when I saw that.) He was a fixture on the road, so sorry for your loss.

Just saw the paper and I'm another one who really did not know Donald, but always saw him running through Center Brook and at various races in the area. We did cross paths quite a few times and he always gave a nod or wave. Seeing him was always inspirational. I'll dearly miss seeing him on the road. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I did not know Mr. McDougall personally, but in a way I felt I did. Going to or coming home from work I would see him faithfully running and marvel at his dedication. I will miss him.

To the family members of Donald,
My sincerest condolences. Donald and I met only once at a road race in Madison on St Patricks day a few years back. But like him, I was an avid runner and really only recogised him on the road. I never knew his name. I said Hi and he said Hi. I run around Ivoryton a lot too. We would pass on hot July days in the evening when all was quiet except for me and him in the 90 degree heat. We both snaked our way back and forth around Ivoryton and Centerbrook, crisscrossing paths. We would nod at each other. Sometimes it felt like we were the only two on the roads. He was my secret running buddie, though we never ran together or spoke. He was a source of inspiration for me. He will be missed.

Your Dad was my sons soccer coach way back in the day and what a coach he was! Tenacious and tough with high achievement standards. My son excelled under his tutelage and I never forgot it. For years I saw him jogging down Main Street and I always used to whisper to myself " hi coach" and give a little salute;(..... So sorry for your loss. He was old school and tough as nails but we really respected and admired that

I am so sad to hear of Don's passing. His time was so valuable / why so short? I will miss even though I've not worked with him or run with him in recent years. I still value or time we had together at Doncasters / Turbo / Turbo Chargers Road Racing. Beautiful memories will live in long after we've pondered our urgent immediate questions.

My condolences to the McDougall family.
Looking back at the years we worked together it was a pleasure to have known Don. Back in the early 90s Don was a key member of our manufacturing team and he could always be counted on to get things done right. Besides being technically gifted he had a easy going personality that inspired others
around him. In following years, I was also fortunate to work along side Don at NEAP and occasionally even ran a road race together. I know he will be missed by all .

Ellen, Erica, Brice and Allison,
I want to express my sincere sympathy on the passing of your husand and father. Don and I go way back to our days of playing high school basketball at the Morgan School. Over the years we have crossed paths playing baskbetball in mens leagues and when our children were playing basketball in high school. Don was a very caring person and I know that he loved you all very much. It is hard to say the things that need to be said in a short email but wanted to express my sympathy and to share in you grief. Please remember the good times that you shared as a family and that Don had passed way to soon. My thought and prayers go out to all of you at this difficult time.
