Obituary of Amy Denise Giroux

Amy Denise Giroux, 53, of Chester, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 after a brief struggle with ovarian cancer. She was the beloved wife of James Pelati. Born in New Britain, Amy was the daughter of Wanda (Chotkowski) Giroux and the late Leo Giroux. She grew up in Newington and was a graduate of Newington High School and University of Connecticut. Amy was a freelance graphic designer for most of her career, and at the time of her illness she was employed as a graphic designer for Sheffield Pharmaceuticals in New London. Her happiest times were outdoors or spending time with her family at their cottage at Rogers Lake in Lyme. Besides her husband Jim, and her mother Wanda, she leaves her sister, Roxane Denalsky and her husband Jack, her brother, Barry Giroux and his wife Kathy, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be privately held by her family. A memorial service will be planned for the spring.
