Obituary of Linnea Sikora

Linnea (Lynn) Abbott Sikora, 71, of Old Saybrook, passed into the arms of Jesus while surrounded by her family and friends in her beloved Texas Hill Country on April 8, 2016. Lynn is survived by her husband Jack, daughter Beth Labriola and her husband Bob, daughter, Tempe Sikora, granddaughter Caroline Labriola, her sister Martha and brother-in-law Dale, her brother Rick, and her nieces, nephew, and great-nieces. She also leaves behind her faith community at Art Methodist Church, Texas, and St. John's, Essex. Lynn grew up in Mendham, NJ, and was a graduate of Trenton State College and Eastern Connecticut State University. She taught elementary school in Pomfret, CT, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Bangkok, Thailand, and East Hampton, CT. She loved God, her family and friends, and the children whom she taught. Teaching children to read was her greatest pleasure. Visitation will be held on Saturday April 16th at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook, from 9am to 10:30am. Funeral service to follow at the Saint John's Church Main Street, Essex at 11AM. Interment Cypress Cemetery, Old Saybrook.
