Obituary of Raymond C. Northrop
Raymond C. Northrop "fafa", 82, of Old Lyme passed away at his home on July 17, 2016. Raymond was predeceased by his wife Illa-Lee (Baldwin) Northrop in 1993, his parents, Raymond Clinton Sr. and Marion (Ruff) Northrop, and his brother Douglas Northrop. He is survived by two sisters, Ann Zarifis and her husband Frank of Iowa and Ursala Vachon and her husband Gerald of FL, two brothers, Ronald Northrop and his wife Lois of AZ and Steven Northrop and his wife Cathy of MA, and a sister –in-law Dolly Northrop of Connecticut, three children, Sharon Woods of Westbrook, CT, Lori Northrop of Clinton, CT, Glen Northrop Sr. of East Hampton, CT., seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Raymond was a dedicated father and grandparent and loved them dearly. He was in the Army from 1956 to 1958 and the National Guard from 1958 to 1960. He owned his own business, Northrop Electric, for many years before going to the work for the U. S. Sub Base in Groton until he retired in 1994. Raymond always made time for everyone, donating his electrical and carpentry skills to his community, family, and friends. He was a wonderful father and friend. He will be missed dearly. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at the Centerbrook Cemetery, Westbrook Road in Centerbrook on July 30th at 11:00AM.
