To the Wilson Family,
I met Rick 15 years ago when I moored my boat in his marina.
I am so sad to learn of his untimely passing as I felt he was one of the best people I had the pleasure of knowing. What a great guy who really cared about people.
I have added him to my prayers and know welcomed him home.
May he rest in eternal peace.
So long Rick.

Ever since I could remember you were "Daddy Rick" and that's who I have always known you as. I will never forget when I was younger seeing you come through the front door on holidays with gifts for Donna and Christina. But you never forgot me and always managed to pick me out something I would love and I always did. I remember when mom was sick and she fell asleep when I was at Morgan for a club meeting and after many attempts of trying to call her, you pulled up in your truck. The few times you had to take me to work in Westbrook. You were there for me, too. More than my real father was the last few years. I remember when I was in 3rd grade and you took me around the Marina to take photos for a school project I had to do. The teacher put it up on the wall in class because all of the kids loved looking at the cranes you had. If only I could go back to those times so we could all see you again and enjoy those great moments.... But I'm sure you're hanging out Oceanside in heaven right now. Save us all a seat <3 and you love i miss>

Dad, I've tried so hard over the last week to think of the right words to say. I can't. All I can do is remember our trips to Old Forge, our barge trip up the CT River, snowmobiling, navigating the little rubber boat around the docks at the marina, and many many other times. I'm sure I don't have to tell you how missed you are, and will always be. But no matter what we were proud of you always, and I'll be sure to pass on the many stories to your grandson. I love you dad.....

I was really shocked and sorry to hear of Rick's passing. My deep condolences to his family. I wintered my sailboat at RBM for almost 20 years and never had a complaint. Rick always treated me graciously and more than fairly. One year I got the bright idea while painting the bottom of my 28' sailboat, Cloud Dancer, of backing off the jack stands so I could paint the hull where the pads were, and then when dry to the touch, placing a sheet of wax paper between the jack stand pad and the hull, then re-tightened the jack stands, but not too tight. Well, I moved to the other side and started painting when suddenly the boat tipped over away from me, sliding nicely on the wax paper and narrowly missing my mast which was on saw horse alongside and a nearby power boat. Whew! Sheepishly I went to the office and told Rick. He was incredulous, but graciously, without making me feel like a fool, took it all in stride and brought his crane over to right my boat. The funny part is he charged me for two damaged jack stands that he continued to use on other boats for years afterward. I loved the guy! He did a lot of work for the Duck Island Yacht Condo Association, of which I am a member. He recently replaced many pilings on our docks and rebuilt several of the owners slip fingers, and did an outstanding job. I will miss him tremendously.

Hearing of Ricky's passing brought back many fond memories from long ago. He was a sweet kind guy who was a good friend in High School and afterward until my life took me out of Clinton and I lost touch with many friends. His service was a true testiment of how loved he was, by so many. My deepest condolences to his family. Let your memories give you peace and know he will always be there watching over you. May you rest in peace Ricky

Dear Ricky,Our friendship began in 1973 as two kids having fun together and riding around Clinton Harbor in your little wooden boat. By 1978 we were going steady and in love.We did'nt have a care in the world!! Boy do I remember doing donuts in your camero after a snow storm in Morgan high parking lot.I also have great memories ,I would sit on the point of Cedar Island where my family HAD a cottage and you would always pick me up for a ride while testing out different boats.WE had so many great times together.I can not express the feeling of loss nor the disbelief of your passing.I will always LOVE and miss you.Remember u for ever ,JACKIE

Rick you were my first true love, husband and friend. We brought two beautiful daughters into this world and when I had my third, you loved her like she was your own. We had our ups & downs, we smiled & frowned, we laughed & we cried but you we're a good man....that I never denied. I'll love you always and miss you more than most know but you'll live on in our hearts, memory and our proud but saddened children. Until we meet again....rest peacefully.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Rick was a great guy, we've known him for years. He had a big heart. We'll never forget the time when he brought a little piglet over to the house and asked my husband if he would butcher it for him. My husband said " what do you want out of it"? Rick said "oh, a couple of hams and chops and some bacon. We just laughed and said, Rick, you have to raise it up to get that. So we raised it for him, and he got what he wanted. He was only about 18 or so when this happened.
