Obituary of Charles Rowe Fenger
Charles Rowe Fenger, 64, of Moodus, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2016. Known as 'Chazz' to his childhood friends, and 'Charlie' to newer friends and coworkers, he was born on July 6, 1952 in Glastonbury, the son of Christian Fenger of Old Lyme and the late Joan C. Fenger. He was predeceased by his brother, Frederick Fenger of Boston MA. He is survived and dearly missed by his wife, Helene Fenger and their son, Jordan Fenger of Moodus, and his brother and sister-in-law, David and Mojgan Zelmon of Tipp City, Ohio. Charlie was a graduate of Vermont Academy and Utica College of Syracuse University. He worked for many years as a project manager in the power generation industry, starting at CN Flagg in Meriden CT, and ending his career at Gemma Power Systems in Glastonbury. He was an accomplished skier and ocean sailor, and an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, Formula 1 racing and UCONN basketball. In his later years he enjoyed bowling and golfing, but most of all he enjoyed the company of his friends, no matter what they were doing. He could build or fix just about anything, and he was the guy you could call if you needed help – any time, anywhere. He was a loyal friend with a great sense of humor, and he will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved him. He did his best no matter what he tried, and he lived his life fully…as his closest friends would say "Like a Hawk". Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 22nd from 5 - 7 pm at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook CT.
