To Jenn and Her Family:
I think this excerpt from the obituary says it all: "...Max, George, Charlie and Greta, who will retell the stories of happier times to keep his memory bright and theirs from dimming..." I'm sure there are many, many great stories. While I never met your dad, I heard a lot about him and can only imagine the loss you are feeling, but can also feel a sense of joy in his life and those great stories.
Wishes for peace to you.
Stan

I want to express my deepest condolences to Diane and Family. Roy was a mentor to me as well as a good friend. Roy gave me my first chance to grow as a Golf Professional at Old Lyme CC. He taught me a lot about the game and learning the business we both shared. We had a lot of fun playing golf together. Roy and I should have won the Pro/Assistant Pro Championship in 1975. We lost to Tony Amaral and his Assistant in a eleven hole playoff. Because of Roy's efforts, I advanced to becoming an Assistant Professional to Bob Kay at Wampanoag CC in West Hartford CT and then ultimately the Head Golf Professional at Wallingford CC. I kept a lot of Roy's advice in mind throughout my entire career which led me to advance to many Country Clubs in Florida. Roy always said to become the best in the business, move to Florida. Roy was famous with his wit, humor, and jokes. I have missed him since I left in 1975 and will still miss him deeply. God Speed Rex! Tex.

Dear Diane and Jennifer, sending you both my deepest condolences. I am so sorry to hear about my Uncle Roy's passing. I am very far away, distant in every sense of the word, but please know i share in your grief and send you love through these wires. I am going to post a few pictures here of Roy -- they are from Gram's collection of old family photos (which she gave to me before she died.) So many great photos of Roy! His smile!! Most are from his childhood, high school and young adult years.. I'll post a few here and will be sending you the entire batch later today.
With love,
Sarah

Diane, I was shocked to hear of Roy's passing. We had so many laughs together while either in the office, on the clam grounds or fishing on "the high seas". He was a great guy and will be dearly missed by those that knew him.

To Diane and family, Paula and I send you our deepest sympathies to all of you. I have many wonderful memories of Roy and will always have them. He and I played in a lot of proams together and I loved how he could get intense. I think he's up in heaven now, and up there, you make all the putts!

Diane and family, so sorry for your loss. We haven't seen Roy for sometime and it so disheartening that we lose time with friends then hear they have passed away.

My life has been enriched by so many fond memories of Roy that I couldn't even start here. All the laughs, the meals, the experiences shared by Sandy and me will echo inside me until the end of my own life. I cherished his friendship and he gave it generously. In the end, all we really have is memories and he has made me wealthy with those he has given me. Diane, Jenny, Betsy and the grandkids are all enriched by the fact his love for family was so proudly worn even when Roy and I were by ourselves.

There are so many memories I have of "Mr Gregory" as my adult self still calls him- his belly laugh, his love of life, his captivating way of telling a story, his special nickname for me since I was a teenager, but mostly what I remember is his love for his daughters Jenny and Bets!!
