Obituary of James Hunter Danks

James (Jim) Hunter Danks, 69, of Essex, CT died Wednesday, March 15, 2017. He was born in Passaic, NJ. He is survived by his wife Judy Ann; daughter Jill Egan and husband Michael; daughter Pam McNeil and husband Joe; daughter Nancy Anselmo and husband Bill; and sister Margaret (Peg) Smith and husband Jim. He has seven grandchildren: Nolan and Carter Egan; Joseph and Morgan McNeil; and Sophie, Audrey, and Cali Anselmo. He was the owner of JHD Signs, a member of the Essex Fire Department, worked for the Town of Essex Highway Department, and a former police officer in Washington, NJ. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Essex Fire Department, 11 Saybrook Road, Essex, CT 06426. A Memorial Service will follow at the same location at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of James may be made to the Essex Fire Department at the address above or to the Closer to Free Fund, which jointly supports Smilow Cancer Hospital.
