Bob was a braver and better man than I through this. I called him several times, but being a pretty emotional guy, ended up falling apart completely and couldn't even talk. I had to question myself whether I was really comforting or helping him in any meaningful way. Bob will be one of the people in my life that I will never forget. His kindness and hospitality will forever be with me. and his courage an inspiration. Amy, if you ever need a helping hand, I will be there.

My uncle Bob Boisvert told me of Bob's passing and I am so sorry to hear this! I was a childhood friend ( his 6th and 8th grade girlfriend!) from Longmeadow, MA and have such fond memories of him. I met him when I was 11! He was popular and always the best at anything athletic. But he was never a braggart about it. He was always generous with everyone and had a great sense of humor.
I was meeting a client in Essex about 25 years ago and my young son who was in the car with me, was feeling ill. I pulled off the exit ramp to stop and help him and as I did so, I saw I had pulled into the parking lot of Bobs Package Store. I stood there in shock. I also found this hilarious. I went in and asked to speak to Bob Grillo. He looked at me a long time and then asked why. This was a memorable moment. He wasnt sure if it was me or not. I had changed since 11. lol I asked if he knew who I was and he guessed right. It was so strange and funny all at once. We spoke briefly, then I had to make my appointment. I am so glad God put me in the parking lot of his store, unbeknownst to me, so we could laugh.
Please accept my condolences to his wife and children and well as his brothers. He was a gem of a person and I know he will be missed. Blessings to you all. Susan (Meals) Morgan
