Obituary of Robert Grillo

Robert P. Grillo, of Chester passed away Friday March 24th, at the age of 58. He passed peacefully that morning surrounded by his family at his residence in Chester. He was born on August 9th in Amityville, NY. Bob was the beloved husband of Amy Grillo. He was the son of Lino A. and Joan Grillo of Essex. He is also survived by his two sons; Timothy Todd of Ivoryton, and Shawn Todd of Littleton, Colorado, his two brothers and their wives, Michael and Lee of Hinesburg, Vermont, and John and Robyn of Carollton, Georgia. Bob leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews as well. He was the owner of Bob Grillo's Package Store in the heart of Centerbrook for 35 years and was very well known and respected in the community of Essex. Bob loved to entertain. He would always have family and friends over for cookouts and holidays and make anyone who came feel as welcome and loved as family. Bob has donated his Sundays for last many years to teaching the children at Deep River Congregational Church and has been a mentor and role model for many youths there. There will be a memorial service Saturday, the 8th of April at The First Congregational Church of Deep River, at 11am, 1 Church St. Deep River, CT. Following the service, there will be a celebration of life reception at the Deep River Town Hall. Any contributions in Bob's name may be made to The First Congregational Church of Deep River.
