Bop was so warm and welcoming to me. We learned that he had been born in the house next door to my childhood home in Edgewood, RI! He also made sure I became a sailor after I met Mike. He found a classic Herreshoff 12.5 foot sailboat near Essex and excitedly let know Mike know it would be the perfect boat for us. We happily sail her on Narragansett Bay and receive many compliments on her classic lines. I will miss bringing Bop my apple pie for him to enjoy when we visited him at Essex Meadows.
Our condolences to your family. Al was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. We enjoyed swapping sea stories with him. It was so nice to see him at the last potluck at Harry's. We will miss his infectious smile and warm personality. He was a very likable man.
I am sorry for your loss. May your hearts be filled with wonderful memories as you celebrate a life of longevity and joyful times you had together. May God's loving kindness give you the strength you need to endure. Psalm 29:11
To the Borchert Family...I knew your dad only because i knew your mom. She and I played many a round of golf at Madison CC. My memory of your dad is that wonderful bench he had installed at the club in her memory and i get to say hello to her each time i pass by to the 15th hole. I know he missed her so much. Now they are back together. My sincerest condolences and prayers to all. Treasure the memories.
