Dear William, Mark, Matthew and Jonathan and families,
We were very sorry to hear of your mother's death. We are the folks who bought her house at 11 Mitchel Terrace. Having come from an urban postage stamp in Philadelphia, we regret not being able to do her extraordinary gardens justice.
But we feel very fortunate to have benefitted from your mother's vision when she created this house and property, and send our best wishes to you and your families going forward.
Sincerely,
Fred and Judith Osborne

I was so sorry to hear of Pat's passing. She was a remarkable woman. I so fondly recall my time at her beautiful home while working at the Ivoryton Playhouse.
I will always see her working in her gardens among her many flowers. She was a generous and warm friend.
I send my regards to her wonderful family and know they will carry her legacy forward. RIP Pat.

To Bill, Mark, Matt and Jon - I will always remember Pat's boundless generosity whether it was her home, boat or knowledge of gardening. Sometimes I would arrive home and find her weeding and/or planting in my garden.....and this is my house in Rhode Island ! And then there were our "adventures" -especially when we traveled to Italy. She did Italy her way which did not include any of the lovely wines of the region - no, she stayed true to herself and stuck with her rum and coke!
I will miss her greatly. My love to you all.

Pat and I became friends at Deb's when she saw me using a chip-clip to read a book over breakfast. Pat and I shared an avid love of books.

We first met Pat in 1967, barely a year after she moved from Wethersfield and soon after Karen and I sailed into Essex as live-aboards in our old gaff yawl. When our son Stephen was born in 1971 Pat swept all three of us up to live briefly with her in Ivoryton as we adjusted to parenthood. She became our surrogate grandmother and a fond friend. She enriched our lives as she did with all who came into her orbit. Our heartfelt condolences to Bill, Mark and Matthew, and their families.

Foster family, I have such fond memories of Gramma Pat as many summers were spent over at the house enjoying the pool with all the kids. She was such a kind hearted woman who will be missed by many. Condolences to all of you during this sad time and I hope fond memories also help you ease your pain and sadness. She will always be with you in your heart, memories and everywhere you look. Her spirit will always live on. Love to you all

To Bill,Mark, and families. Having known Pat for over 40 years as a friend and neighbor in Essex, it is with much sorrow to hear of her passing. I will miss our "gab" fests at the mailbox?
