I feel so fortunate that Wiley, my daughter, Zeylia, my granddaughter, and I were able to visit Lenny on the 1st and 2nd of September. He was so chipper and alert that it is hard to believe that he is now gone. It feels good to know that he was surrounded by loving family and at home. We were there for his home visit from the nursing home and it was wonderful to see him sitting on the porch in the chair I will always remember him in (we have pictures of Zeylia on his lap in that chair)
I am a new friend of Lenny, having visited 3 times in the last few years. What drew me to Deep River was hearing Kurtis talk of Uncle Lenny when I was visiting Panama. He made him sound like such a special person and his words were true, a gentle, kind, endearing soul.
I have such fond memories.
My love to all the family
