I will cherish my heartfelt memory of Stevie. I realized long ago that Stevie and Florence were perhaps the closest thing I had to an Aunt and Uncle, perhaps in my lifetime. Before I moved across the street from them, I would stop in and visit whenever I was in the area. They always welcomed me with open arms, and Stevie always hugged me and said "I Love You" and the gesture was returned.
When we moved into his birth home, he was there every time he saw my car. He helped me carry furniture in, he sat and talked, we walked around the yard he had cared for so lovingly, and we laughed, a lot.
I feel blessed to have lived near Stevie for the past 10 years. It was ten years of laughing, loving and exchanging desserts and family stories.
I will miss him more than most would realize. And every night when I step on the stool that he made for us, to climb in to bed, I will look to the stars, as I often do, and say "Thank You Be At Peace". I always loved you!! And now I have another angel watching over me...
