Obituary of James V. Lorello
James V. Lorello, 92 of Ivoryton the beloved husband of Lillian (Vetro) Lorello passed away on Wednesday, March 7th at the Shoreline Medical Center in Essex. He was born in Mistretta, Sicily the son of the late Salvatore and Maria (Faraci) Lorello. He and Lillian were married in New Haven at Saint Anthony Church on August 19, 1943. James has been a resident of Ivoryton since 1953 and was a special education teacher in all of the Regional District #4 schools beginning his career in 1953 and retiring in 1977. He had a great love of the opera, classical music, and was a self taught pianist. James was an avid reader and writer and had mastered the craft of painting and wall papering. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Lea L. Smith of Palm Coast, FL, James Jeff Lorello, of Coventry, and Christian Salvatore Lorello of East Haddam, his grandchildren, Emily Smith Magazzi of North Branford, Audrey Smith Sacco, of Boynton Beach, FL, Sara Marie Lorello of Portsmouth, NH and James David Lorello of Chester, his great grandson Marcus Vincenzo Magazzi. He also leaves his brother Charles Lorello of Cheshire and his sister Josephine Passariello of West Haven, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin sister, Betty Treadwell, sister, Mary Lorello Crisculo, and his brother, Michael Lorello. Visitation will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home 34 Main Street in Centerbrook on Sunday, March 11th from 2:00 to 4:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mark the Evangelist Church, 222 McVeagh Rd. in Westbrook on Monday, March 12th at 11:00am. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, Route 145 in Westbrook.
