Having been away, I missed the announcement of Karl's passing. As one of his Camp Hazen LEA brothers in 1976, I have tremendous memories of his energy, passion for life, and personal challenges that were ever present. Please know that I share in your loss, while cherishing Karl's remarkable tenacity in life.

Karl was a smart and talented technologist. He persevered many physical challenges and still managed to have a great sense of humor. It was my pleasure to work with him and get to know him. He will be sorely missed. I wish him peace.

Karl was one of my neighbors in Rocky Hill and one of my favorites. He was always so kind and I remember how nice he was to be me when I lost my English Bulldog Colby. My other bulldog used to try to get in his flower garden and Karl said don't worry about it. I had many nice conversations with him and will miss him
very much. He never had a negative thing to say about anyone....
My deepest sympathy to his family.

I worked with Karl in the Hartford Hospital Hematology Lab for many years. He was skilled and knowledgeable in his job and always willing to help his fellow techs. He endured his serious health problems with grace and dignity. His death is a tragedy. Please accept my sympathy for your loss of your beloved Karl. Sincerely, Beth

To Mr.Raunikar, Mark and Marla and to all their family members The Gregorys offer their condolences.I grew up as a next door neighbor to the Raunikar family from kindergarten through high school.Growing up Karl was like an older brother to me. As children Karl, Mark and I along with the rest of the neighborhood enjoyed life to the fullest. Ill never forget all the sports that were played, climbing the apple tree, going down to the frog pond and many extremely funny moments going down snake hill without any breaks or just missing that last turn and ending up in the bushes. Many, many fond and lasting memories of Karl. I will never forget. Rest in peace my freind.

I was looking at photos last Sunday that included Karl and the gang in Hematology. I showed some of the pictures to my husband and remarked that Karl was one of the most intelligent and funniest people I ever knew. The memories of hiking at Kent Falls and various other activities that we all enjoyed are very precious. My deepest sympathy to your family. I considered Karl a close friend and I will miss him/

My deepest sympathy to Karl's family. I often sought Karl's opinion based on his experience and knowledge in Hematology. I hope Karl has found relief from the challenges he faced. I hope that you can find peace in knowing he left a legacy of quality and care in the work he did, and an extended family of co-workers that share your loss.

Karl was my best friend in high school. We played in the band together, learned Spanish together, shot pool together, and became young men together. I was sad to go to college, largely because I was leaving Karl. He was like a brother to me.
Karl introduced me to Camp Hazen. He and I were counselors there together, and since that first year (last year when Camp Hazen was all boys) all my brothers and sisters and our children have been part of the Hazen family. Karl's spirit lives in my heart, and in all the hearts of my family who are part of Camp Hazen.
Karl -- we will miss you deeply, your humor, your laugh, your love of life.
Chris Forrest
