Obituary of Edna W. Baca
Edna Williams Baca, age 103, of Essex, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Apple Rehab. Nursing Home in Old Saybrook. Edna was born on October 5, 1909 and was the daughter of the late Ida (Everett) Bourget and George Bourget of Essex. Edna was a life-long resident of Essex, up until her final years where she remained on the CT shoreline until her death. Edna had a love for the outdoors, and loved to be near the water, especially the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound. She was blessed in her lifetime to have had two marriages, her first husband, Selden Williams, and then her second husband, David Baca, both men predeceased. She did not have any biological children, but was blessed to have had a stepdaughter, the late Kathleen (Baca) Pelletier, 5 surviving grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Throughout her life, Edna was an active member of the Essex community. She worked at the Connecticut National Bank for several years, as well as an attendant at a private hospital. She volunteered at the Senior Estuary at the Deep River Congregational Church. Edna and her second husband traveled extensively throughout the United States and Mexico during her retirement years. She also traveled to Turkey. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Essex, located at 6 Methodist Hill Essex.
