Obituary of Alan S. Lindquist

Alan S. Lindquist, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 6, 2013. Prior to becoming a full-time resident of Old Saybrook, Connecticut in 2010 he and his family had resided in Bow, New Hampshire for 42 years. Alan was a very active Rotarian in both the Rotary Club of Bow and the Old Saybrook Rotary Club. As a Past-President of the Rotary Club in Bow he was a Paul Harris Fellow and the first recipient of the club's International Service Award. He served on many committees of both the City of Bow and as a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church. Alan was a member of the Sequin Lodge, AF& AM in Newington, CT. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed sailing, skiing, hiking and golfing. Alan was an active member of the Old Lyme Country Club and enjoyed his time there immensely. He leaves his wife of 56 years Evelyn C. Lindquist; daughter Allison Lindquist, of Oakland, CA; son and daughter in-law Steven and Jennifer Lindquist and grandchildren Hunter, Taylor, and Audrey Lindquist of Broomfield, CO; and son and daughter-in law Alan and Jocelyn Lindquist of Vancouver, WA. Al was an amazing father, husband and friend. He will be remembered for his compassion and kindness, and his dedication to friends and family. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at 11:00AM in the Grand Ballroom at the Water's Edge Resort and Spa, 1525 Boston Post Road in Westbrook, Connecticut.
