Obituary of Allen C. Clark

Allen C. Clark, 65, of Old Saybrook died suddenly at Middlesex Hospital on September 18, 2013. Allen was born in Middletown son of the late Robert W. & Maryann (Fladrich) Clark, he grew up in Old Saybrook, graduated from Old Saybrook High School in 1966. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, having served in the Army, after his military service he ran his family business Riverview Kennels in Old Saybrook for 10 years, after which he worked as a self-employed carpenter specializing in colonial restoration from which he retired 6 years ago. Allen was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion, he was an avid boater and lighthouse enthusiast. He is lovingly survived by his children; Andrew P. Clark of Essex, Stephanie A. Clark-Jones of Essex, Amanda M. Clark of Norwich, Lisa Hird of England, his brother Robert Clark of New York and his nine grandchildren; Alexandra, Ashley, Cassidy, Josephine, Jason, Madison, Maryn, Maxwell and Amarra. Allen is also survived by his companion Pam Trumble of Old Saybrook and his former wife Dana Clark of Waterford. In addition to his parents Allen was predeceased by his daughter Laura Debish, his brother Bruce Clark and sister Doris Seterus. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4pm at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. Centerbrook. Private graveside services will be held at Cypress Cemetery, Old Saybrook.
