Obituary of Wayne Pomiansky

Wayne Pomiansky of Acton, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on October 25, 2013 at the age of 70. He was born in Providence, RI October 18, 1943 the son of Louis and Rose Pomiansky of Providence and West Palm Beach, FL. He was a devoted father of two cherished daughters, Lauren Weinstein married to Brian Weinstein of Ivoryton, CT, and Lisa Wieland married to Christian Wieland of Louisville, CO, two wonderful grandsons, Bradley James and Lucas Alexander, and two step grandchildren Jessica and Benjamin. He was also devoted to his beloved Adele Chambers Reynolds, and her two daughters Claire and Sara-Grace. Wayne attended Hope High School in Providence, RI and then went on to graduate from Brown University with a B.A. in English as well as the United States Air Force Officer Training School where he served in the Rhode Island National Guard. Wayne married Christina Ricci of Providence, RI and worked in sales for Uniroyal, Inc. for a number of years, which took his young family to South Bend, IN and Cheshire, CT. He and his family then relocated to Acton, MA where he soon switched careers and spent more time with his girls. He was a successful HR professional and mentor to many in the high tech industry in MA including Digital Equipment Corporation and Verizon until he retired. Wayne loved the water – he loved to boat and visit the beaches and coastal towns of New England. He recently traveled to Costa Rica and Israel with Adele with whom he spent the past 11 years. He loved the symphony, jazz and had a life long interest in broadcast journalism, starting with his role as a radio announcer at WICE Providence and just recently as a host and interviewer of a number of notable dignitaries and public figures on local public access television in MA. He was an avid reader, an engaging conversationalist and a dear friend to many. He was the kind of special man who was welcome and appreciated wherever he went. His unique, kind, patient, thoughtful way, his empathy for others, his sparkling blue eyes and joyful laughter will be deeply missed by all who loved him and knew him. Funeral services will be privately held.
