James it been so special meeting you! We became good friends and my heart is broke. I will miss ur humor, caring heart & most of all you. I been blessed to know you in my lifetime. Have to think that one day I’ll see you again. Maybe on a jet, a sail boat,, or in paradise. Rest well, love, Robin
I did not have the pleasure of serving aboard USS Sample FF-1048 with James but got to know him through our ship's Facebook group. Anyone that served in the Navy I consider a Shipmate but even more so when we served aboard the same ship. We may not have been aboard at the same time but at one time or another we were both the lifeblood of the USS Sample FF-1048. We both knew her inside and out, top to bottom.
My condolences, thought and prayers go out to James' Family, Friends and Shipmates. I pray God will watch over and comfort your family during this period of loss and over the years as the memories rush back into your mind as they will.
James, you proudly and honorably served your country as one of my Shipmates in the U.S. Navy and aboard USS Sample.

You May stand relieved, We have the watch. Rest In Peace Shipmate!
I can't express in words the deep brotherly love I had with 'Jim' as I called him since becoming friends during and beyond the time we served as shipmates on the USS Sample. We always kept in touch, made the time to catch up and in the past ten years, barely a week went by where we wouldn't talk on the phone about everything two really good friends exchange with each other at length about the day to day occurrences of their lives. We had some really rewarding visits back and forth between our homes these past years too. I thank God for that. He is family to me. To his grandchildren, his daughters, his brothers and sisters and their spouses, his nieces and nephews and especially his beloved parents who with him are looking down on us all from heaven, he talked so much about you and he loved you immensely, even if at one time or another he was mad about dealing with something between you & him (between him and me too - more than I care to admit) . . . that's one of the things that made him so genuine and why we really appreciated his love not only for us, but the life and the drive he had to pursuing the things he loved to do. Again to his family, please accept my sincerest condolences. I share your loss. . . . Jim, I believe you knew this while you were here, but you WILL be missed more than you'll ever know, in fact I believe, fondly remembered, way beyond this sadness we feel today; as for me it is outweighed by the joy and laughter and especially the good stuff, the sweat we together as sounding boards overcame obstacles in our lives. - In your life you left a great earthly mark on the land, the seas and the sky above, which without doubt you will ALWAYS be freely soaring up and down into our hearts & souls where the light will always be lit for the memory of good times we shared with you to get underway in our thoughts once again. With this said, I wish you well in doing what you do in the next life . .See you there hopefully far down that big road my friend. God bless you brother.
