My best friend in high school. John was my right-hand man in high school. And I was his. We did everything together. I had my 1968 Camaro, and he had his 1965 Mustang convertible and his Coot (An off-road 4 wheel vehicle.) Some of the best times of my life were spent with John and the Keenan Family. (Chris, Harry, Peggy, Tom, and Mr. and Mrs. Keenan.) After High school, we went our separate ways. John sailed the seas, and I sailed the skies. We both crossed oceans and probably crossed paths and didn’t even know it. John living in Fl., and me in LI NY, we never got a chance to hook up again. It was always in the back of my mind to see John again. He will be missed greatly. RIP my friend.

My wife and I were fortunate to befriend John over the last few years as he slipped his pristine Boston Whaler next to us at Middle Cove Marina. We had many chats during the boating season on numerous subjects from boating, fishing, cars - you name it, such a knowledgeable guy!
RIP John we will miss you - Our thoughts and prayers are with the Keenan family during these difficult times -

To Chris and the entire Keenan Family, our family is deeply saddened to hear of John's passing. You have our sincere condolences. John was a true gentleman and "old salt". Our kids speak of him fondly from his time taking care of the Regulator and instilling words of wisdom (and telling the boys about his bike). An impressive and knowledgeable waterman, one learned something new every time in his presence. His knowledge was surpassed only by his great sense of humor and smile.
With thoughts and prayers,
Dan, Jen, Caroline, Sam, and Charlie Logan

I was saddened to hear of the passing of John. I enjoyed the time I spent working with John, greatly. He taught me a lot in the time we spent together in the shop, and was always a joy to shoot the shit with! I’ll always remember John for his impressions of the sounds his engines would make in his various “toys” and how he loved to see all the heads in Essex turn when he can down the road “ba-ba-ba-ba”
“Always take your time doing the small extra steps, because it all comes together in the end”
RIP John
-Mitch
Prayers for the entire Keenan Family

It was with great sorrow that I learned of John's illness - too young too soon simply not fair.
John was good to me, my family, my boats. One of my first boats had a trailer that the dealer had delivered to john and i to drive
back to Essex. We no sooner got up to about 45MPH than the whole rig was going all over 3 lanes. John very calm gave clear guidance and all was good - surely he saved all our lives.
Yes John did a great job - but I believe he truly cared about his customers. Always ready with a smile and a can do - our community will surely miss him - as will I. Woody Comstock
