Obituary of John T. Keenan

John T. Keenan passed away peacefully at his home in Chester, CT on December 6th with his family by his side. John was born on August 13, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York to Thomas and Alice (Manning) Keenan. From his early years growing up on the South Shore of Long Island, john could be found fishing or surfing in the swells of the Atlantic. He then moved to Centerport, NY mid-way through high school, and graduated from Harborfields High School. He was a graduate of Great Lakes Maritime Academy and carried on after graduation to a life on the sea, traveling the world on some of the largest, most sophisticated, ocean-going vessels. He relocated to Connecticut from Florida in 2012 to work with his brother at Essex Marine Group. He is survived by his brothers; Christopher (Sarah) and Harry (Elizabeth), nieces; Faith, Brooke, Margaret and Ashley and nephews; Harry and Ryan. John was preceded by his parents, his brother Thomas and his sister, Peggy. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 13th, at the Robinson, Wright and Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook from 2-4pm. Due to Coivd-19, all CDC guidelines must be adhered to by those attending. Interment will be held on Monday, December 14th, at 1PM, at the Cemetery of the Holy Cross, 3620 Tilden Ave., Brooklyn, New York.
